Clerical duties may be assigned in accordance with the office procedures of individual establishments and may include a combination of answering telephones,bookkeeping, typing or computer processing, stenography, office machine operation, filing and/or determining program eligibility.Some positions in this occupation may be responsible for coordinating work and supervising employees. Position is under the direct supervision of the Accountant lll Supervisor . This position is identified as a sensitive position and will be performing tasks involving financial/sensitive information, high levels of trust and requires background screening, including fingerprinting. This position provides fiscal and clerical support which includes a variety of complex and technical skills and abilities, and involves a diversity of programs requiring wide latitude of technical and legal knowledge and the ability to exercise independent judgment and the capability and initiative to accomplish results in program area. Adhere to Department of Health Information Security policies and procedures and is a key custodian for designated areas. Assist with Medicaid, Medicaid HMO, and third party commercial insurance billing, and Dental Billing, for Walton County Health Department. Responsible for timely submittal and follow-up of billings. Responsible for maintaining compliance rates set by Accounts Receivable Policy. Assist clinic reception staff with billing issues; assist with insurance verification and procedure approvals. Denial rate will be tracked by supervisor to identify coding errors, identify billing problems, etc. to reduce rate and facilitate timely Medicaid, Medicaid HMO's, and third party payments. Provide Vital Statistics back up, issuing birth and death certificates. Monitor past due client accounts and contact clients via phone and in person to set up payment arrangements for collection of past due accounts. Prepare reports and inform supervisor of status of accounts receivables for Walton County Health Department. Works with Business Office regarding write offs and collections.EXAMPLES OF WORK:Compiles, copies, sorts, and files records of office activities, business transactions, and other activities.Computes, records, and proofreads data and other information.Operates office machines.Completes and mails documents.Stuffs envelopes and addresses, stamps, sorts, and distributes mail, packages, and other materials.Scans and Indexes files.Composes and types letters and other correspondence.Orders materials, supplies, and services, and completes records and reports.Answers telephone, responds to requests, delivers messages, and runs errands.Reviews files, records, and other documents to obtain information to respond to requests.Completes work schedules and arranges appointments.Collects, counts, and disburses money,completes banking transactions, and processes payroll.Communicates with customers, employees, and other individuals.Maintains logs and inventories and prepares related reports.Provides basic information to clients.Determines program eligibility and provides program benefits to clients.Inputs and retrieves program specific information and/or prints program documents..
