GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support. **Job Summary** **This position is located in Mannheim, Germany and is contingent upon contract win.** Material Coordinator-Transportation Specialist Lead is to procure, track and inventory all materials that are used by the Contractor as well as Facilities Management Department. Responsible for overall supply operations at work site level including receiving, storage, requisitioning, issue and accountability of all items required in support of work site maintenance effort. Supervised by Site Manager or site Supply Technician. Essential Responsibilities: 1. Research and locate the product and a vendor selling the product. 2. Aid in the research when the item is identified to be purchased by Government personnel and will take the lead when items are determined to be purchased through the Maintenance contractor. 3. If the items are to be purchased with the government credit card, the Material Coordinator will generate all of the necessary paperwork to work it through the DMLSS process. 4. If the product exists in the DMLSS catalog, the Material Coordinator will contact the vendor and request a quote with an item number, quantity and current pricing. 5. If the product is not in the DMLSS catalog, the item must be processed into DMLSS. The Material Coordinator will conduct site walks with vendors and process all request through the Authorized Officer and follow up on all items ordered. All supply request forms must be kept for auditing purposes. 6. Oversees receiving operations and ensures that all requirements for inspection and accountability are maintained. 7. Manages all storage operations to include warehouse configurations, locator identification systems, and material handling operations. 8. Manages requisitioning of all parts and materials required to support work site maintenance operation. 9. Establishes physical inventory procedures and schedules. Inventories are to be conducted in accordance with requirements of applicable task order regulations. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Work is performed in a shop environment that is moderately lighted, heated and ventilated, is exposed to disagreeable fumes and to cuts and bruises from using tools in close placed and hazards of moving vehicles such as forklifts and sweepers in shop area. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell. Frequently lifts items weighing 15-25 pounds and occasionally in excess of 40 pounds. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, or may include unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues.
