The Opportunity

As a Banquet Captain at The Lodge, you'll be responsible for training and directing the banquet staff in servicing all banquet activities during the shift to ensure a successful function and repeat business. This is a part-time hourly position, reporting to the Banquets Manager. Applicants must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Essential Functions:

  • Directly supervise all banquet staff on event to ensure all procedures and policies are followed.
  • Conduct daily pre-function meetings with Banquet Manager and staff and assure that assignment sheet instructions are communicated.
  • Ensure all banquet functions are fully staffed, set up on time and according to the client's specifications.
  • Ensure communication with client is consistent throughout the event to assure client we are always available if needed.
  • Report to management any unsatisfactory food and beverage items mentioned by guests, any guest complaints or issues, and any positive suggestions to improve guest satisfaction; note any of these items in the Captain's Report.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent guest service skills.
  • Previous catering and supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work quickly, pleasantly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills; ability to work well under pressure and provide leadership and guidance.
