A Nurse Practitioner position has just been created with one of the best health systems in Northern California.
The Mental Health ARNP will work primarily with the Geriatric population, but will also consult staff and treat patients across other departments when needed. The NP will evaluate patients and provide adequate treatment and prescribe medications when appropriate.
The position will report to the Director of Psychiatry and will be supported by a team of well experienced staff. The Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner is expected to perform in-depth evaluations and interviews in providing psychiatric assessments.
The Psychiatric NP will assist in the coordination of the appropriate follow up care and referrals.The Psych NP will lead group therapy and provide necessary counseling as needed. The NP will promote culturally sensitive health and resource information that is evidence based and patient centered.
This role also has an education component, as the Nurse Practitioner is a resource to the primary care staff.
