CPC Coder

An excellent acute care hospital system has a great opportunity now available for a Certified Clinical Coder to join their large inpatient HIM team.

This hospital is known both locally and nationally for clinical excellence. They are a major teaching hospital part of a large, non-profit healthcare system. With over 300 beds, this hospital offers a comprehensive list of medical care, including an ER that sees over 50k visits annually, a well-established Cancer Program, Cardiology & Cardiac Surgery, comprehensive Behavioral Health program and Women’s and Children’s Services. They have won much recognition for clinical achievement and quality of patient care, including recently receiving an “A” on Leapfrog’s Hospital Safety Score for Providing High Quality Care to patients.

The Certified Coder will perform hands on coding, doc review, physician and provider education, handling denials and appeals and working with both inpatient and outpatient coding. A candidate with inpatient coding experience is preferred. The CPC certification is required for this position.

The Coding Specialist for Health Information Management will enter, retrieve and access data to prepare statistical reports. The Coder Specialist will provide research and resource support to HIM Manager and all hospital departments in order to increase accuracy of medical records and ensure efficiency across the organization.
