JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under general supervision, serves as a Blood Donation Specialist at fixed site or mobile collection site. Registers, interviews, screens and selects potential donors. Performs venipuncture and collects blood products per manual or automated process following all applicable regulatory standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Provides donor care and conducts equipment quality control while delivering excellent customer service and adhering to company standards.

Exhibits support of our values, quality objectives, ethics, customer service, and confidentiality standards at all times.

Routinely performs duties in compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies, including but not limited to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, the current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), Americas Blood Centers (ABC), Clinical Laboratory Improvements Amendments (CLIA), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Greets, registers, screens and performs vital signs on prospective donors/patients.
2. If qualified, performs all aspects of phlebotomy and whole blood and/or automated red cell/plasma collection procedures as trained and assigned.
3. Recognizes and implements appropriate intervention for donor/patient reactions.
4. Ensures quality control on equipment is performed as directed and corrective action taken.
5. Ensures proper handling of blood products for storage and transport.
6. Responsible for donor retention per center customer service
7. Assists with mobile equipment and supplies delivery and set up.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

TRAVEL TO DONOR SITES REQUIRED:

-Will have access to company car and all travel expenses will be covered.

SCHEDULE:

Varies between 5-8 hour shifts.

Need to be available between: 5AM- 10PM Mon-Thurs.; 5AM-5PM Friday; two Saturdays per month 5AM-2PM.

**You will know your schedule 3 weeks in advance. Your shift will be 5-8 hours long and within these windows.
