Buyer - Full-time / Part-time

Experience Buyer need for a Biotech Company in the East Bay!

Job Purpose A Buyer is responsible for the procurement of a variety of commodities and/or services that are technical and sometimes complex, and may participate in the negotiation and administration of procurement contracts & OEM Agreements.

Duties and responsibilities
The duties of this position include but are not limited to working with vendors to purchase material and maintain inventory on site and in all off site locations around the world. Maintain the demand and forecast for the Service Spares group. This position is also responsible for interfacing with the manufacturing teams in all locations regarding material status for spares stocking.
* Reviewing purchase requisitions and moving them through the approval chain
* Converting purchase requisitions into purchase orders
* Negotiating and awarding purchase orders to qualified vendors
* Strong analytically abilities
* Ability to negotiate with vendors
* Understanding of Production Planning
* Effective decision making

Required:
* Good communication, planning and scheduling skills.
* Solid experience working with MRP/ERP systems.
* Strong analytical abilities.
* Detailed driven personality
* Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and report writing.
* High-energy, have strong motivation, and be a quick learner.
* Able to multi-task and work with minimal supervision.
* Previous experience buying spares and services
Preferred:
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with challenging personalities internal and external to the organization.
* Proven experience working in a large company environment with a heavy workload and multiple responsibilities
