Hospitalist Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants are needed to join a progressive ad growing Long Island hospital.
The stellar 325-bed acute-care community hospital is part of a multidisciplinary, multi-campus, healthcare complex, designed to meet the needs of Suffolk County.
The General Medicine NP and PA serves as emergency responder for emergent patient conditions including Rapid Response, Code Gray, and Code 64 for all patients throughout the hospital.
Other duties include:
- Responds to requests for non-emergent patient assessments/evaluations
- Performs clinical procedures as requested by medical staff including, but not limited to, phlebotomy, insertion of Nasagastric Tubes, and
- Foley placements; Documents care in the electronic medical record in accordance with hospital policy Performs patient expiration assessments
- Performs Interim Management of patient during level of care upgrade in absence of an ACLS certified RN
- Assists with IV Push
- Performs Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC), PICC removals, and PICC evaluations
- Obtains necessary consent for procedures, blood products, and HIV testing.
- May, upon the request by an Attending Physician assist with some functions of discharge planning and urgent patient care needs.
