About this job

A unique and rewarding opportunity is now available for a Board Certified Advanced Practice Nurse to work in women and children’s services.

This nearly 150+ bed teaching hospital values teamwork and a supportive work environment. They have been nationally ranked in multiple clinical areas, including cardiac treatment. They are also busy and growing, looking to expand their service line and increase their ability to meet the growing demands of their community.

The Labor and Delivery Nurse Practitioner will work in collaboration with nurses, physicians, midwives, Lactation Consultants and others within a large and welcoming birth center. The unit delivers around 700 babies per year and offers patients a beautiful and spacious environment that supports birth choice. The hospital has worked hard to make this a peaceful and joyous place, from the design to the flow to the amenities offered.

The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner will work in two main areas within the Birthing Center: labor and delivery and Special Care Nursery. The Birth Center Nurse Practitioner will join the LD staff during C-sections to offer care to newborns that are full term and expected to be healthy. The Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner will also work in the low acuity special care nursery, specifically to ensure babies are ready to be discharged once mom has been readied for home.

The hospital will consider neonatal nurse practitioners, pediatric nurse practitioners or others with a clinical background in labor and delivery, pediatrics, well-baby care or neonatal intensive care.

The hospital is located in Eastern Illinois, very near the border of Indiana. This area has so much to offer, including a low cost of living, great schools, lots to do and an open-minded, friendly community. With many colleges and universities close by, it also is an area that attracts artists, writers, academics and cultural events all year long.

This position offers a generous compensation package including competitive base salary, relocation funds, full array of benefits, tuition assistance and a friendly and supportive work environment.
