Area Retail Supervisor

The Area Retail Supervisor will supervise and manage Retail Sales Associates and create sales opportunities through targeted enrollment activities to increase membership and build support for KP via retail sales, marketing, and brand awareness activities. Manage existing members with the goal of improving retention, growth of membership, and customer service. Provides coaching, training, and support to Retail Sales Associates to engage non-members in public setting to communicate our key messages, and value proposition; building understanding and "willingness to consider" KP as a health plan of choice.

Essential Functions:

* Prepares and communicates staffing scheduling in accordance with budget and business needs.

* Supervises and provides coaching for Retail Sales Associates staff including identifying and coordinating individual and team training.

* Maintains supplies and materials in accordance with business needs and local facility events.

* Manages overall enrollment activity for KPIF, Covered CA, and Medicare to meet business targets.

* Reviews performance analysis of enrollments and service versus business targets, recommends and implements staffing or other procedural changes to impact business performance.

* Performance Reviews & Performance discussions - Prepares and delivers performance reviews with input from Retail Sales Manager including performance discussions with individuals to address any performance gaps.

* Responsibility for physical retail location (keys, security, procedures, and protocol) and maintaining relationship with local shopping center/location management.

* Collaborate with Business Partners to identify, recommend, and implement business changes to improve overall business performance (ex: KPIF enrollment in Stockton is low, would partner with KPIF and Marketing for direct mail campaign to increase foot traffic with target audience).

* Coordinate shared activities with Lines of Business (ex: Medicare Seminars in retail location).

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

* 1 year of sales supervisor/management experience in sales and/or health insurance, or related experience.

* 1 year of experience in a sales role with sales membership or revenue accountability.

Education

* High school diploma or GED required.

* Associate's degree in a related field OR two (2) years of work experience in a directly related field.

License, Certification, Registration

* CA Accident and Health Insurance License within sixty (60) days of hire.

Additional Requirements:

* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

* Basic knowledge of consultative sales process.

Preferred Qualifications:

* 1 year of experience working with health insurance or other insurance products, individual sales, or other related experience.

* Bachelor's degree in a related field OR four (4) years of work experience in a directly related field.

* Basic knowledge of enrollment process and sales channels for Small Group/SHOP, Individual and Medicare members.

* Basic knowledge of Insurance Marketplace.

* A basic understanding of health care reform including the most significant provisions of the Affordable Care Act.

* An understanding of the competitive landscape for health care and health insurance in California including carriers, plans/benefits and pricing.

* Bi-lingual, English/ Spanish.
