Job Summary:

* Perform health care claims data analysis on projects that include the manipulation of large data sets, classification assignment, definition and evaluation of statistical results, model simulation, and report design and generation.

* Provide detailed outcomes analysis supporting the implementation of health care payment reforms.

* Works closely with clinical teams to support development of patient classification tools.

* Works closely with other statistics and health economics staff to provide analysis of health care cost and reimbursement trends.

* Support the health economic aspects of research, design, policy implementation and incentives around Clinical and Economic Research classification systems.

* Work with team to publish articles and blogs on various health analytics and policy topics.

* Keep abreast of trends in the market and classification/health policy design and implementation usage in Medicare, Medicaid, ACO, and Commercial payer.

* Further the design, research and develop on predictive modeling of Potentially Preventable Events.

* Work with teams of clinicians and analyst providing technical support and performing ad hoc analysis on data and payment policy/quality issues.

Basic Qualifications:

* Master's degree or higher in Epidemiology, Statistics, Economics, Math, Information Systems, or Computer Science from an accredited university

* Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a health care environment

* Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with SAS and SQL.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Strong math, pattern matching and analytic skills.

* Demonstrated knowledge of statistical modeling tool, techniques and SAS software/certification.

* Strong knowledge of database applications.

* Working knowledge of C+.

* Working knowledge of R.

* Knowledge in handling medical claims data in financial modeling.

* Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated proficiency in written communication; publications a plus.

* Preferred candidate will have a desire to conduct independent research using large claims databases.

Location: Silver Spring, MD or Troy, NY

Travel: May include up to 10%

Relocation: Is not authorized
