Attorney - Fixed Income - Full-time

Job Description:

Responsible for the analysis of complex legal issues and implications on matters of significant impact to GBAM's Fixed Income businesses. Provides advice on new or existing products or services. Coordinates the work of outside legal counsel on related projects. Supervises activities of other legal department staff, including other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff. Individuals in this position typically have eight or more years of experience since admission to the Bar. May manage others.

In-house attorney position, located in New York City, providing legal coverage for Structured Products and Asset Backed Lending within Global Banking and Markets.  Primary responsibilities  include coverage of  (1)  business areas that originate, structure  and distribute Structured Products and (2)  business areas that  originate asset backed loans from a  variety of asset classes.

Attorney would be responsible for assistance in developing and approving transactions, programs and policies, structuring and documenting new transactions, managing external counsel and conducting regulatory analysis and advising on issues arising under applicable securities laws and regulation

Required Skills:

JD or equivalent law degree

Must have at least 6 years of legal experience, including significant external or in-house experience at a major law firm or financial institution.

At least one state bar admission; active/good standing

Desired Skills:

Secured lending, securitization and derivatives legal experience strongly preferred.
