A Firefighter is responsible for providing fire prevention, suppression and life and property protection for emergency and medical incidents, as well as vehicle and equipment maintenance and records and reporting duties. Starting rate for qualified candidates is $14 per hour + $250 hiring bonus!

Responsibilities include:
  • Responds to emergencies at locations to assist u0026amp; coordinates with outside agencies as needed
  • Visually inspect all sprinkler system components, including risers, heads u0026amp; exterior valves u0026amp; hydrants.
  • Conduct quarterly fire alarm water flow tests (off hours)
  • Conduct weekly eye wash and safety shower inspections
  • Conduct monthly AED inspections
  • Conduct monthly first aid and medical kit inspections
  • Conduct weekly fire pump tests
  • Conduct monthly spill kit checks. Conduct monthly fire extinguisher inspections
  • Conduct monthly checks and updates of the evacuation kits
  • Conduct weekly fire inspections at each building/site
  • Arrange u0026amp; conduct annual fire door inspections
  • Arrange u0026amp; conduct backflow preventer inspections for the fire systems at all buildings
  • Utilize fire system impairment program as applicable
  • Assist in troubleshooting u0026amp; arranging service calls as appropriate for fire/security/life safety devices
  • Participate or lead site fire inspections, including insurance carrier and fire or building department
  • Organize fire alarm u0026amp; suppression inspections; make arrangements with vendors u0026amp; end users
  • Responsible for administrative functions related to fire u0026amp; life safety (recordkeeping, reports, filing)
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Successful candidates must meet the following background requirements:
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • At least 21 years of age or older as required by applicable law or contractual requirements
  • Demonstrate a stable work history
  • Pass an extensive background screening which includes, but is not limited to, criminal background checks (local, state and federal), drug test, aptitude tests, skills assessment, interviews, and personality profile (behavioral assessment)

Candidates must meet the following skill requirements:
  • Effective verbal u0026amp; written communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently u0026amp; take initiative
  • Team work and customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Presentation u0026amp; training experience
  • Fire system component knowledge
  • Fire inspection and code knowledge a plus
  • Ability to respond to emergencies u0026amp; focus


Education

Candidates must meet the following educational requirements:
  • Possess at least a high school education or equivalent (GED)
Qualified candidates must be currently certified as a Firefighter, possess or obtain a CPR certification and complete all pre-employment testing, including physical exam, agility test, written exams, manual dexterity and strength testing for firefighters.
