Interested? Berkshire Farms Market is seeking Guest Service Associates! This position is very multi-faceted and requires engaged and energetic "can do" team members.

Berkshire Farms Market is an artisan quick service / market concept celebrating local food culture. We offer locally produced products and focus on small business, sustainable, organic and all around specialty items. In addition to the retail side, we also have a full coffee bar, fresh squeezed juices, smoothies, and house made artisan salads and sandwiches.

SUMMARY:

The role of the GSA is to ensure exceptional experiences for all guests. A GSA is accountable for providing excellent guest service support throughout their entire shift which may include; product quality / availability, guest service, merchandising / stocking, location cleanliness / organization / appearance as well as working as a barista, cashier and order maker during peak periods and as needed. All GSA’s must fully understand the Company’s standards in each of those areas as well as methods for achieving them. This understanding is attained through the GSA’s own skills, experience and desire combined with the tools, company philosophies, guidance and resources provided to them.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

40% - Seek to provide an exceptional experience for guests through positive interaction and friendly hospitality. Greet guests and bid them farewell, answer questions, educate on products and provide direction in a gracious manner. Help manage store flow by talking to guests in line, ensuring lines are directed the right direction, guests are directed to the express lane as able.

10% - Maintain store cleanliness and organization

10% - Maintain attractive merchandising, check product rotation and appearance, communicate items in need of replenishment, assist stockers as needed ensuring that performance of their duties does not negatively impact guests

40% - Perform cashier, barista, order maker duties

OTHER:

  • Foster teamwork and a positive workplace culture, exuding positive energy / attitude
  • Provide above and beyond guest service
  • Product suggestive selling and upselling
  • Ensure that all food displays are appealing
  • Merchandise & ensure rotation of all refrigerated product
  • With assistance of management prepare and conduct new product trainings
  • Ensure all signage is displayed and appropriate
  • Work as a barista / cashier / expo as needed during peak periods, staff shortages or for break coverage
  • Coordinate with management and stockers to keep shelves full and limit the amount intrusion that stocking shelves may cause to guests.
  • Assist with end of the month inventory counting
  • Assist with product demos

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY:

Individual must posses the following knowledge, skills and abilities and must be able to demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the position.

  • Understand and adhere to Airport / Massport rules and regulations as related to your position
  • Bi-lingual a plus

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1+ years in a food and beverage operation, preferably a café, market or coffee house
  • 1+ years in a high touch customer service role
  • Willingness to learn and a positive attitude
  • Successfully pass an extensive 10 year criminal background check conducted by the FBI. And Logan security training.

COMPENSATION:  $12 - $13 / hr, paid vacation, available medical, 401k
