Summary
Category Analyst
The Analyst is responsible for maintaining updates to the master data encompassing product dimension, shelf fixture and schematic POG libraries. They will integrate customer POS into Space Planning software and create new and updated assortments and schematics across assigned categories spanning all departments for a chain of over 200 outlets that is a Top 25 North American retailer. The Analyst will also work with Category Insights Managers to prepare Category Analysis and Category Business Reviews.

Minimum Qualifications
Education Level: (Preferred) Bachelor's Degree or (Required) equivalent industry experience
Field of Study/Area of Experience: Graduating College Student’s / Recent Grads welcomed.
1-3 years of experience preferred in applicable field (i.e. sales or marketing agency, Customer, and/or Client)

Category Analyst
The Analyst is responsible for maintaining updates to the master data encompassing product dimension, shelf fixture and schematic POG libraries. Responsibilities
Presentation Development and Delivery
- Will work with the Category Insights Managers to prepare all data and help organize sales stories into business insights that are actionable for presentation to Buyers, Category Managers and Merchandising executives.
- Assume a supporting role as part of the Category Development Team in presenting insights, strategies and tactics as it applies to assortment, schematics and overall floorplan for assigned Retail businesses.
Project/Client Management and Support
- Develop Category Management relationships with assigned Retail businesses at client.
- Manage and maintain ongoing relationship for Category Management activities.
- Support Category Insights Manager in the development of business growth opportunities from data analysis for presentation to Category teams.
Data Analysis/Interpretation/Application
- Coordinates and oversees master data assortment authorizations and POS sales metrics between customer and internal Advantage Solutions IT servers.
- Proactively maintains additions and updates to databases
- Product Dimension library maintenance
- Fixture library maintenance
- Schematic POG library maintenance
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Education Level: (Preferred) Bachelor's Degree or (Required) equivalent industry experience
Field of Study/Area of Experience: Graduating College Student’s / Recent Grads welcomed.
1-3 years of experience preferred in applicable field (i.e. sales or marketing agency, Customer, and/or Client)
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
- Knowledge of Planogram software (Required – or alternatively strong Retail understanding and excellent technology and database skills) and database, fixture and POG library maintenance and Floor Plan software (Preferred).
- Understanding of Product Flow and Strategic Sub-categorization.
- Strong prioritization skills.
- Strong track record of building and maintaining customer/client relationships and providing a high level of client service to the customer.
- Strong functional knowledge of Category Management.
- Experience using syndicated programs (IRI, Nielsen, etc.) or Retailer POS systems
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web-browsers (Required) and other relational database management such as SQL or Access, etc. (Desirable).
