The UMR Strategic Account Executive will work in partnership with UMR to service and manage pharmacy benefit clients. This position is responsible for client retention, client satisfaction, client renewal and upselling.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with UMR - UHC sister company
  • Manage ongoing contract relationships and service delivery to clients for one or more accounts
  • Add value to sales and account management process by coordinating telephone discussions, face-to-face meetings, scheduling quarterly and annual meetings and preparing / distributing account reports, as requested
  • Review spend and increase generic utilization
  • Act as outward-facing, dedicated resource for assigned accounts, typically with direct client contact (not call center) and large or complex accounts
  • Build relationships with employer / group clients (not individual members) and serve as the primary point of contact for overall and day-to-day service delivery
  • Represent client internally and coordinate with other functions to implement client systems, complete projects, and address ongoing service needs
  • Develop solid working relationships with producers to assist in up sell opportunities in partnership with sales staff
  • Responsible for account management across a specific region; create and support the implementation of strategic business plans and retention for assigned region
  • Support and participate in sales presentations and processes
  • Responsible for training and updating information related to customers across

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience
  • 3+ years of Account Management experience working in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) or Health Plans
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Prior experience managing a large book of business
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, including overnight travel 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) experience
  • High degree of customer focus and attention to service
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and think through issues thoroughly, identify alternative responses and bring about an effective solution
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
