The 2017 Summer Internship Program is open for dedicated and hardworking students. The goal of the Summer Intern program is to provide students with real-life business experience, while giving them the opportunity to learn about our industry in a setting that will broaden an entry level candidate’s professional experiences while promoting self-confidence, accomplishment, and career development.
The Summer Intern Program is 10 weeks in length and will run from May 30, 2017 through August 4, 2017.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist all members of assigned department with daily operations and special projects
  • Complete intern Group project(s)
  • Participate in scheduled events
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong passion demonstrated via energy levels, enthusiasm, creativity and commitment
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel and Access
  • Some understanding of technology and telecommunications is desired
  • Must practice good judgment, discretion, and confidentiality

The Field Engineering Intern will assist Regional Engineering Sr. Director’s. This intern will participate in special projects that will have a direct impact in improving the overall customer experience. By being involved in these projects, the intern will develop a knowledge of a Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial (HFC) plant and related technologies as well as the development of strategies used to manage the business. Additional responsibilities include the following:

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participate in special projects
    • Coordination, communication and scheduling of project deliverables and results
    • Actively engage with cross-functional teams to drive project tasks
  • Participate in strategy development sessions and meetings, and assist in the development of process
  • Assist in development of reporting and provide analysis
  • Participate in Lab experiments (Proactive Network Maintenance)
    • Prepare reports and summarize results
  • Ordering of tools & test equipment & Inventory management
  • Performs other duties as requested.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills /Abilities and Knowledge
  • Ability to grasp and apply technology principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • MS Office proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Results driven

Rising Junior or higher with a minimum GPA of 3.0 preferably with a major in one of the functional areas listed below:
  • Technology
  • Engineering
