Local civil engineering firm is looking for a positive, self-motivated, detail-oriented civil designer, EI or PE with a minimum of 3 years experience in site civil engineering to fill a position as Civil Designer or Engineer.
This position requires a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology and EI certification, or the ability to obtain within 6 months. Proficiency in the use of Civil 3D, good written and verbal communication skills, and stormwater management experience are strongly preferred. The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience.
The successful candidate will work as part of a small design team and with guidance from the Project Manager and Project Principal, will perform a wide variety of site civil and roadway engineering assignments including the design of horizontal and vertical roadway alignments, site layout and staking plans, grading and storm drainage plans, stormwater management and BMP design, erosion control plans, and utility plans. Other assignments may include construction observations, review of submittals, and other construction administration tasks.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering.
- Current P.E. license required.
- 5 years minimum experience.
- Strong design skills using AutoCAD and Civil 3D for land development design including the areas of grading, drainage, streets, sewers, storm drains and utilities.
- Superior leadership and interpersonal abilities.
- Expertise in the preparation of grading plans, utility plans, site plans and the preparation of preliminary cost estimates.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills and a desire to function in a position of high visibility both internal and external to the company.
