A successful, local, specialty meat and food retailer in Carmel has asked for our help finding a Customer Service Associate to lead the PM shift from Noon to 8pm. Our client is looking for a key individual he can trust to ensure excellent customer satisfaction and help grow his business. In other words, this is not your typical retail job. This job is for an ambitious candidate who wants to learn from a successful entrepreneur and enhance his/her management and business skills.
Job duties
 assists customers with their over the counter needs,
 fills phone in orders,
 writes up customer orders,
 assists customers with their decision making and choices,
 conveys customers'' needs to butchers and staff,
 rings up transaction on register,
 occasionally drives company delivery vehicle,
 checks out cash register in the evening,
 checks off a nightly closing list to ensure all staff jobs are completed properly
 serves as team lead when the owner is not present

Characteristics for success: willingness to keep customers'' needs first, outgoing, friendly, happy, organized, willingness to learn new things, understand standard cooking instructions, must be able to work on their feet for a 6 to 8 hour shift with 2 breaks, must be strong enough to take customer orders to their cars if need be (up to 40lbs), valid driver''s license, ability to work with others, ability to run a Windows based PC program (understand navigating within Windows), ability to hold other employees to company standards.

A firm handshake, ready smile and "can-do'' attitude will be given top consideration.

Prior retail experience is desired, but our client would prefer to train someone with promise rather than deprogram someone with years of entrenched, bad retail habits. That said, if you are someone who loves retail work and customer interaction but hate the company you are working for, this opportunity may be an ideal way to retain the customer interaction fun and get rid of mindless, corporate retail drudgery.

This is an evaluation hire assignment, and the salary is $11.00-$12.00 with the opportunity for advancement and additional compensation based on demonstrated enthusiasm, leadership and performance.
