As a Mara Mi Retail Store + Café Manager, you will play a key role in enhancing our image as a service store. The main focus of the Retail Store + Café Manager is to generate sales, provide outstanding customer service and effectively manage the café and store team. The Store + Café Manager also continually builds on a strong base of product knowledge, and assist the store lead associates in the upholding of company directed visual merchandising standards.

Responsible for

* Proactively lead the store to ensure achievement of business goals in revenue, expense, profitability, customer satisfaction, inventory shrinkage, and associate morale.

* Select, coach, and develop effective management staff in the store and café. Develop a diverse, high performing team. Take action as needed to ensure that all associates fully contribute to the store efforts.

* Collaborates with the Mara Mi team to determine product selection in store. Assists and proactively constructs and designs “installations” and/or merchandising displays.

* Assists Gartner Specialty Product team with preparing baked goods for photo shoots and special events.

* Actively manage the customer experience within the store and café.

* Take ownership for full implementation of corporate programs and initiatives on merchandising, cost management, productivity, and associate morale.

* Follows all policies given preventing alcohol sales to underage customers.

* Ensure consistency of merchandising execution and operational processes within the store.

* Manage stock levels and making key decisions about stock control.

* Analyze sales figures and forecasting future sales volumes to maximize profits.

* Use information technology to record sales figures and for data analysis and forward planning.

* Ensure standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met

* Follow all health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all food and drink preparation.

* Resolve health and safety, legal and security issues.

* Respond to customer complaints and comments.

* Promote the organization locally by taking a visible role in the local community.

* Organize special promotions, displays and events.

* Update colleagues on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues.

* Tour the sales floor regularly, talking to colleagues and customers, and identifying or resolving urgent issues.

* Maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives, and monitoring what local competitors are doing.

* Initiate changes to improve the business, e.g. revising opening hours to ensure the store can compete effectively in the local market.

* Deal with sales, as and when required.

* Meet with vendors and salespeople to order food and supplies.

* Manage budget for wages, supplies, equipment and all other expenses.

* Determine pricing of menu items.

* Work with the accounting department to manage the accounts payable and receivable systems.

* Work with the human resources department to hire and train staff.

* Plan new marketing campaigns to attract customers and constantly expand the client base.

* Creative director for bakery initiating new and seasonal baked goods showcasing Gartner Studios design sense and one-of-a kind baked goods.

Requirements

Minimum Education/Certification:

* High School Diploma or Equivalent, Bachelor’s degree preferred.

* Certified Food Manager with a ServSafe certification

Minimum Experience:

* Minimum of five to seven years of experience in food service management or retail store management.

* Experience with managing others, preferably in food service or retail environments.

* Proven ability to increase sales and store profitability.

* Systems and computer proficiency (MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

* Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, as dictated by the needs of the business.

* Ability to effectively manage the schedule planning of all sales associates.

* Proven ability to work in fast paced environment while juggling multiple competing tasks and demands.

* Ability to communicate and work effectively in a highly entrepreneurial work environment.

* Committed to providing high level of customer service.

* Ability to move medium to large items weight up to 50 pounds.

* This position will require frequent standing.

* Frequently required to use hand and finger motions, handle objects, reach with hands and arms.
