Cleveland Clinic announces a search for the Director for its Center for Autism. The Center is a major institution in Northeast Ohio focused on the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), treatment of ASD in both Center-based and community based programs, and education and research into the causes and treatment of ASD.

The position of Director is a leadership post responsible for all aspects of the Center including daily operations of the Lerner School for Autism, clinical operations of the center, research programs and the development of the Center's strategic vision and plan. Administratively, the Autism Center Director reports to the Vice Chair of the Cleveland Clinic Pediatric Institute.

Suitable candidates will have a doctorate in medicine, psychology, education or child development, significant research experience and significant clinical experience with ASD including five or more years spent conducting evaluations and designing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs. Experience in a high-volume center-based setting, a startup program or equivalent experience in program management is highly preferred. ABA certificate eligibility is preferred. Suitable candidates should have a strong record of leadership including general administration, clinical service, teaching, scholarship and mentoring of faculty. Candidates should be accomplished in working across disciplines to establish innovative programs and in working with diverse stakeholders within or external to the Cleveland Clinic to advocate for individuals with autism. A faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience is available at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.

The Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital is a 429 bed facility staffed by more than 300 physicians in 55 pediatric medical and surgical specialties and providing over 800,000 outpatient visits annually. It is ranked as one of the best facilities in the United States by US News & World Report. The Center for Autism includes the Lerner School with an average census of 100 students which is located on the Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital for Rehabilitation campus, a consulting group serving national and international clients, and multiple satellite locations.
