About this job

Administers comprehensive occupational therapy services to patients. Provides direct patient care, testing analyses, and evaluations of seriously ill patients or those having complex medical problems, and formulates a treatment plan which is consistent with the patient's needs. Communicates regularly with others involved in the patient's care. Provides consultation and direct assistance to staff and physicians in the management of patients. Follows established protocols for documentation. Utilizes community resources to plan for the continued care, support and follow-up of the patient after discharge. Assists in supervising staff and students and in developing in-service training programs for continuing staff development. Assesses or assists staff in assessing complex patient's problems. Observes organizational and universal standards for sterile technique and infection control in carrying out daily responsibilities. Assists in developing, evaluating and revising policies and procedures. Supports quality assurance by ensuring that daily practices are consistent with established standards for patient care research. Assists in developing staff schedules, conducting in-service education, and training staff and students. Properly maintains equipment and work areas. Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from occupational therapy school accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). Licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Georgia. Must have and maintain NBCOT certification. BLS and Healthcare Provider certifications required. Demonstrated ability to perform at an exceptional level through a letter of recommendation from a Clinical Instructor or GPA above 3.5.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock , Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation , Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks
