Description:
St. Clare Hospital is a 106-bed community hospital that offers leading-edge care and the latest medical technology provided by expert, compassionate staff.  Services include 24/7 emergency services, diagnostic imaging, pharmacy and sophisticated in- and out-patient surgeries.
 
Critical Care at St. Clare includes a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit and a 21-bed progressive care unit.  We have a varied medical/surgical population of cardiac, post-surgical, sepsis, pneumonia, diabetic, palliative care and drug overdose patients.  Our ICU registered nurses provide primary care and we have an RN to patient ratio of 1\:2.  The PCU has an RN to patient ratio of 1\:4.  We have a total of 100 team members that include RNs, an RN Educator and care assistants.  Our nurses work 12-hour shifts from 7 am to 7\:30 pm or 7 pm to 7\:30 am.  We offer new nursing residencies and our nursing staff is a positive mix of experienced and new nurses working together.
 
Job Summary\:        
As a Critical Care Nurse on our team, your day-to-day responsibilities will include things such as the following\:
  • Staying informed about professional trends and adhering to policies and procedures, including safety, risk management and regulatory standards.
  • Administering, overseeing and documenting the administration of medications.
  • Gathering data and performing professional nursing assessments for patient care. Implementing appropriate patient interventions and evaluating outcomes. Providing holistic, comprehensive, and professional nursing care. 
  • Demonstrating your commitment to competent professional practice and engaging in opportunities for your own professional growth.
  • Documenting care delivered and your patient's status. 
  • Identifying opportunities for, and participating in, performance and quality improvement activities to improve clinical outcomes, healthcare delivery systems and address patient safety and satisfaction. 
  • Providing health care education and guidance to your patients and families.

Qualification:
Job Requirements\:
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred 
  • Previous PCU/ICU or Medical/Surgical experience preferred.  New graduates with completion of senior practicum in critical care will also be considered for RN residency positions. 
    Current RN license from the Washington State Board of Nursing
  • Current Healthcare BLS Certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of hire
  • CCRN or PCCN preferred
