About this job

We are looking for a Mechanical Designer to join our team. This person will be responsible for all of the following:

- Design of filter components and assemblies
- Will work within SolidWorks to reverse engineer products and to modify existing legacy drawings
- Will use GD&T and similar techniques to designed to specific tolerances within +/- ten thousandths of an inch
- Will work within newsMRP / part numbering system to reintegrate files and legacy drawings
- Responsible for material selection - majority of components are carbon steel with zinc plating or stainless steel
- Act as a liaison between Drafting, Engineering, and the Manufacturing floor

In order to be considered, the ideal candidate needs to meet the following requirements:

- 5+ years of experience - need someone with a background in manufacturing to bring expertise to this team
- Design of machine components parts - parts that make up an entire mechanism or machine
- GD&T - must have designed to precision or specific tolerances

Other Requirements:
- Degree not required, more concerned with natural mechanical aptitude
- SolidWorks is preferred; any 3D CAD package is acceptable
- Reverse Engineering, and the ability to modify existing legacy drawings
- Knowledge of precision design - +/- thousandths of an inch
- Regulated industry experience would be great, but as long as the person has designed to specific standards, they will be acceptable
- Experience developing design standards
- MRP / part numbering experience would be a plus
