Objective of Position:

  • Level I or II accreditation in Fluorescent Penetrant and Magnetic Particle Inspections
  • Perform non-destructive tests to identify defects and discontinuities in aircraft components.
  • Knowledge of underwriting inspection procedures

Qualifications & Experience

  • NDT Level I or II with accreditation in Flourescent Penetrant and Magnetic Particle Inspections
  • NAS410 (Preferred) or ASNT Certification
  • Required OJT hours - must have documentation on hand to provide copy of

Essential Functions & Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a Quality Team.
  • Ability to adapt work schedule to meet program and company needs.
  • Ability to schedule and manage multiple tasks.
  • Good communication skills including written, verbal, in person and by telephone.
  • Reasoning and thinking skills and ability to problem solve.
  • Inspectors report to the Quality Manager for issues related to duties for the inspection of work done on articles, their specific authorities are listed in LSL Form 159, "List of Authorized Inspectors".

Scope of Duties:

  • Authorized for NDT level I or II of articles after maintenance, preventive maintenance, overhaul & alterations.
  • In-Process Inspection of articles to determine that procedures are complied with that may later be hidden by assembly.

Job Description:

  • Ascertain that all Inspections are properly performed on articles in which work was completed & that the proper maintenance, preventive maintenance & alterations records, reports & forms used are properly executed
  • Ascertain that no defective, unserviceable or un-airworthy parts are installed in any article released by the Repair Station.
  • Assure that periodic checks are made on all inspections tools & the calibration of precision test equipment used by the NDT Inspector is within the valid time frame further assuring that a current record of those inspections & checks are maintained.
  • Assuring that rejected and unserviceable parts are handled in such a way as to prevent their re-use as serviceable parts.
