Job Details:
This is a very large capital budget project into a Substation and T&D upgrade. The project is estimated to last 5-10 years with a strong opportunity for long term growth within the company. The position will involve program management of a portfolio of 12-15 projects. This person will be working in the office 99% of the time. The Purchaser will hold purchasing responsibilities throughout the project life cycle which include ordering materials, supplies, equipment and following up with vendors and suppliers. Preparing all procurement documents will be another aspect of the position. This person will also be responsible for performing commercial bid evaluations of supplier proposals and coordinate technical evaluations and recommendations.
Job Qualifications:
- Preferring 3-10 years of Direct Purchasing experience in a construction oriented role (Substation or Transmission & Distribution projects being a big plus.)
- Experienced with procurement, safety, bid evaluations and negotiating on project work
- Proficient in Microsoft Offices Suites
- Strong exposure to submitting RFP (request for proposals) for a construction project
