WHELAN SECURITY IS NOW HIRING!

This Corporate Security Officer position is located in the River West neighborhood of Chicago, IL. The officer will interact with all levels of management across all business units and provide direct support to leadership in all facets of safety and security. This position is aimed at mitigating risk, ensuring continuity of operations, and safeguarding the client's assets, personnel, proprietary information, and reputation. The person in this position is responsible for all aspects of physical security: ensuring compliance to policies and procedures, monitoring access to company spaces, and resolving access problems and security incidents.

This is a union position that pays $17/hour.

Other duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Leading the day-to-day security operations including guard force oversight, alarm response, and visitor control
  • Developing and overseeing standard operating procedures for designs, configuration, and implementation of physical security systems for both people protection and data
  • Conducting investigations, audits, and other safety, security, or business continuity efforts as business conditions warrant
  • Developing and maintaining contacts with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies
  • Serving as the client’s Subject Matter Expert in all phases of corporate security
  • Working with cross functional teams to identify and mitigate security
  • Serving as the security incident manager as required


Qualifications

Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • At least 21 years of age or older
  • Pass an extensive background screening which includes, but is not limited to, criminal background checks (local, state and federal), drug test, aptitude tests, skills assessment, interviews, and personality profile (behavioral assessment)
  • Having a PERC prior to applying is not required, but you must be eligible to obtain one (complete a background check and attend the required courses for the 20 Hour Certificate)


Education

Candidates must meet the following educational requirements:
  • Possess at least a high school education or equivalent (GED)
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field is highly preferred
  • Prior military is highly preferred
