JOB SUMMARY:
Assist the accounting and finance teams in various activities related to transaction processing, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
Co-op Consultants will be closely supervised by a Senior Accountant, Supervisor or Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Preparation of journal entries for month end financial close activities
* Reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
* Gathering information for government census reporting
* Preparation of various financial analyses of business activity
* Accounting for fixed assets, including set-up in general ledger
* Accounts payable payment processing
* Responding to various internal information requests
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * Working toward undergraduate degree in accounting or finance.
* Grade point average of at least 3.5.
* Personal computer skills in spreadsheet and word processing packages, preferably Excel and Word in a Windows environment.
* Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
* Interest in accounting, auditing, finance and travel.
