Automotive Interior Trim Technician - Full-time / Part-time

Replaces and repairs automotive trim and upholstery, including carpets, seats. Uses hand tools and power equipment to remove, replace or repair trim parts. May manufacture replacement fabric, leather, or vinyl parts to customize or replicate factory appearance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Design and fabricate automotive interior soft trim
-Sculpture foam components
-Create patterns to be used to cut and trim, covering materials to fit seating and interior components
-Leather wrap interior components
-Measure and cut specified covering material
-Operate sewing machine to seam and join various sections of covering material
-Coordinate materials and colors to meet specifications

Required Qualifications:
Education:
-High School Diploma
-Apprenticeship, technical OTJ training, upholstery

Experience:
-Industrial or Custom interior trim experience
-Have the ability to read and understand measuring devices and how to relate to the cutting and sewing of materials in accordance to specific patterns.
-Ability to inspect materials and products being sewn.
-Must pay attention to details on the patterns in effort to complete the assignment with a minimum of re-cuts.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibility.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:
Must be a US Citizen
