Samples Technician - Environmental Lab - Full-time / Part-time

This position is unique because the normal hours are Tuesday through Friday 9:00am - 6:00pm and Saturday 8:00am - 2:00pm. Depending on workload those end times on Friday & Saturday can vary.

• Pull out samples from soil, water, and free product coolers to be scanned out and removed from the lab.
• Properly get rid of samples in the short term and long term sample storage areas when the samples are no longer needed.
• Work with muddy and dirty samples from soils
• Process incoming samples
• Record weights of samples
• Send samples to the appropriate department.
• Label samples for proper testing.
• Prepare samples for shipment.
• Organize shipping containers.
• Complete routing paperwork.
• Lift up to 50 lbs (occasional heavy coolers and 5 gallon buckets) and work on their feet much of the day.
• Assist with sample waste area, which smells strongly. Need to be able to handle foul odors at times.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in a Scientific Field
2. Basic proficiency with Word and Excel
