About this job

This position is primarily responsible for safely transporting customers from Point “A” to Point “B”. The successful candidate must provide exceptional, world class service to a diverse group of important external customer as well as internal contacts with excellent customer service while maintaining a safe, accident free operation of various types of motor vehicles.

Summary of essential job functions

  • Greets customers and guests with a warm and inviting welcome.
  • Assist customers with boarding and de-boarding shuttle vehicle.
  • Operate all vehicles in a safe and cautious manner while maintaining a punctual route schedule.
  • Practice the hospitality standards through excellent customer service.
  • Safeguard all company property including proprietary software, operating systems, policies, procedures and any other information which belongs to Universal Parking of America, LLC and that is entrusted to the driver for use in the course of performing their assigned duties.
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicle by checking for and removing all trash, and debris from inside the vehicle several times per shift. Vehicle should be washed on a weekly or more basis.
  • Willingness to work outside during all seasons.
  • Other duties as assigned by Site Leader, Area Leader or Director.

Minimum requirements

HS Diploma. A valid state issued drivers license. Applicants with the following convictions within a (3) three year period will be ineligible for hire:

1) Conviction of manslaughter, negligent homicide, or other felony resulting from the operation of a motor vehicle.

2) Conviction for reckless driving, impaired driving, street racing, or leaving the scene of an accident.

3) An accumulation of seven or more points due to speeding, moving violations or points adjudicated as the result of an accident.

 

In addition, any person who has received DUI/DWI in the past five (5) years will not be eligible for hire/rehire. Employees will be subject to an annual Department of Motor Vehicle Records check in accordance with Universal’s insurance carrier requirements. Failure to report a violation to the company is grounds for disciplinary action up to and including termination. Universal Parking reserves the right to refuse to allow any employee or contractor to provide services if, in Universal’s judgment, the performance, behavior or driving record of such employee is unsatisfactory.

 

Must have reliable transportation to and from work site and a reliable method of communication. Work schedule may include nights and weekends. May be asked to work additional shifts/days in the event of an employee callout.

Abilities required

Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to briskly walk long distances. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.

Successful candidates must pass a background check, Department of Motor Vehicle check and drug screen.
