OVERVIEW

Leads Revenue Analysis in executing activities focusing on revenue, profit and demand associated with hotel’s rooms and space inventory.  Develops and/or uses analytical tools and systems to maximize revenues and profit.  Position is accountable for preparing forecasts, budgets and projections.  Position contributes to sales strategy, evaluates effectiveness and prepares historical and future analysis of revenue and profit opportunities. Reports to Director of Sales & Marketing

Achieving/Exceeding Goals - Achieving and exceeding goals including performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.

Demonstrating Knowledge - Demonstrating knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.

Demonstrating Leadership - Utilizing interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.

Meeting the Needs of Key Stakeholders - Understanding and meeting the needs of key stakeholders (owners, asset managers, corporate, guests, etc.).

JOB SPECIFIC TASKS

Responsible for analysis of revenue, profit, and demand associated with room inventory for Marriott, sharing with general managers, property leadership teams and market sales leaders.

Extracts and analyzes data in order to draw viable/actionable business conclusions.

Pricing of Rooms Inventory; preparing Budgets, Forecasts – 30-60-90 by day, and full year

Prepares analysis of progress to budget, projections, and forecasts.

Prepares critiques of sales strategy effectiveness.

Prepares analysis of revenue and profit opportunity (historical and future).

Develops and/or utilizes analytical tools and systems toward the goal of maximizing revenue and profit.

Develops and manages internal key stakeholder relationships.

Chairs weekly sales strategy and revenue maximization meetings.

Provides targeted and timely communication of results, achievements and challenges to the stakeholders.

Communicates brand initiatives, demand and market analysis to hotels/clusters/franchise partners/owners.

Participates in quarterly regional reviews.

Contributes to development of hotel sales goals, pricing and selling strategy and customer information.

Ensures regular on-going communication is happening in all areas of responsibility to create awareness of business objectives and communicate expectations, recognize performance and produce desired business results.

REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

2 or 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, Economics, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 3 years’ experience in the revenue management, sales and marketing, or related professional area.

Skills and Knowledge

Revenue Management - Knowledge of total hotel revenue management concepts, processes and strategies (including sales cycles and trends, account management, pricing, and inventory management).

Analytical/Critical Thinking - The ability to gather and organize information using a logical and systematic process; recognize patterns and relationships in complex data; examine data to identify implications, problems and draw appropriate conclusions; generate alternative solutions to problems; evaluate strengths, weaknesses and consequences of alternative solutions and approaches to solving problems. Excellent knowledge of spreadsheet software, database management, and analytical tools.   Managed analytical projects.

Strong Computer Skills - Excellent analytical skills including spreadsheet and data analysis skills including but not limited to Excel and its functions / formulas, Word, Outlook, and the Internet. Using computer hardware and software specific to job including but not limited to MARSHA, Opera, SFA, NGS, HPP, One Yield, MRDW, eFast.

Detail Oriented - Ensures integrity of data in various systems to provide accurate tracking.

Writing and Communication - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience (timely, concise updates to strategy, etc.).  Skilled at clearly conveying information and ideas through a variety of media; engaging the audience and helping them understand and retain the message. Good people relationship skills.

Problem Solving / Decision Making - Ability to identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; using effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing solutions.

Mathematical Skills - Strong mathematical, market, inventory and pricing analysis skills.

Demand Management Environment – Successful working in an environment focused on managing demand vs creating demand.  Extracting and analyzing data in order to draw viable/actionable business conclusions to manage demand.
