Larson-Juhl is seeking a unique individual to maintain price integrity for its products and customers. As the Pricing Specialist, you will be responsible for tracking market conditions and the competitive landscape, establishing optimal pricing on new products, creating value for Larson-Juhl and its customers through in-depth price and sales analysis, managing customer pricing programs, and supporting new sales opportunities through pricing and profitability models.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set product pricing for all products to optimize value for our customers and profitability for Larson-Juhl
  • Manage customer pricing programs to ensure fair and honest pricing for all customers
  • Create customized pricing solutions for high volume customers
  • Lead the Pricing Council team through monthly KPI reports, strategy planning and updates, and pricing project management
  • Field special pricing requests, such as pricing tags and quotes, for quick customer response and systems implementation
  • Research, evaluate and identify market and product trends and competitors to reinforce pricing strategies
  • Collaborate with product development, supply chain, marketing, finance and IT to ensure efficient and effective price setting
  • Provide regular and as needed pricing analysis and reporting for management
  • Set up, track and report on product promotions
  • Provide royalty reporting
  • Work with product management to develop and implement product price strategies, including segment strategies for the various markets and channels. This includes new product ROIs.
  • Monitor and update customer price lists as needed
  • Download and organize baseline price information, analyze and report on inconsistencies, and identify opportunities to optimize sales and profitability through price strategies
  • Establish a system of documentation, communication and review of internal and external comparative price data, including wins and losses due to price
  • Perform profitability and pricing analysis to support key business initiatives as required
  • Analyze sales activity to identify trends and opportunities
  • Perform monthly analysis of existing transactional level data to identify price/margin erosion and assist sales and product management teams in constructing and implementing solutions.
  • Independently develop new Excel models, charts and graphs, and procedures as necessary
  • Analyze market dynamics, pricing trends, market opportunities, operating and sales margins in order to develop reports, procedures and tools for pricing and quoting

 

Skills & Attributes

  • BS or BA in Accounting, Economics or Finance preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of pricing or financial analyst experience, online retail experience is a plus
  • Ability to develop, articulate and present complex findings from data analysis in simple business language
  • Understanding of basic pricing and pricing related concepts, such as price elasticity, price differentiation, value based pricing, marginal cost, break-even analysis, and operating income.
  • General understanding of the business model of retail and e-commerce operations
  • Experience building and managing Financial Models
  • Strong Excel skills
  • JD Edwards/AS 400 experience is a plus
  • Solid communication skills – written and verbal
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Attention to detail, ability to detect data inconsistencies
  • Strong sense of ownership
