Position Details
Performs general maintenance both inside and outside of facility to maintain a safe environment Performs as a team member, interact positively with supervisors, coworkers, associates and customers. Performs tasks assigned in a professional and timely manner.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains a safe work and guest environment.
- Loads and unloads trucks as required.
- Uses small and large trucks, tractors, light and heavy maintenance equipment/tools, snow plows, front-end loader, light and heavy duty hand tools such as shovels, rakes and brooms as required.
- Maintain facility grounds including general yard work (plant flowers, trim trees and shrubs, remove snow, etc).
- Performs various duties such as painting and wall papering.
- Receives and delivers supplies and products as required.
- Maintains parking lots, kennels, apron and other assigned areas as required.
- Performs basic general repairs including electrical and plumbing.
- Operates grounds equipment including lawn mowers, tractors, trucks, etc.
- Operates power tools in a safe manner as required.
- Documents all work orders and provides daily summary reports to manager.
- Handles multiple tasks simultaneously.Performs as a team member and assists fellow associates to ensure a smooth operation.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
- Assists in snow shoveling when needed.
- Assists with loading or unloading trucks and moving furniture when needed.

Education & Experience:
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience: Four months related experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must have general knowledge of the use of simple equipment used in general maintenance.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and calculating square footage and other figurations.
- Ability to read simple instructions and follow simple diagrams.
- Ability to perform simple tasks independently after being given specific instructions.
Required Special requirements:
- Maintain a current motor vehicle license.
- Maintain a current operator's certificate for a Man-Lift, Powered Industrial Truck Training.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a West Virginia Racing Commission License.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a WV Lottery License.
Travel: Local travel as deemed necessary.
Physical Requirements:
- Manual dexterity sufficient to use hand tools required by trade.
- Ability to stand, crouch, and climb to perform repairs, use ladders, platforms, scaffolds and perform various types of manual labor.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Visual acuity sufficient for reading, performing repairs, and painting.
Environmental Working Conditions:
- Exposed to outdoor weather conditions in all seasons, including variable temperatures extremes and wet and/or humid conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Occasionally exposed to noise levels which may be moderate to high
- Work environment will expose you to second hand smoke.
- Able to work in and wear all Personal protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- May be exposed to dog dander.
