Accounting/Pricing Customer Service - Full Time

What is my job:

The job of the Bookkeeper and Pricing Coordinator is to assist in handling the store’s financial matters and help protect financial assets so the store can serve our customers. This role requires working with money and has a significant impact to overall financial operations. Would be responsible for balancing the cash office every day, preparing deposits, completing pricing audits, and assist in overall store operations.

Providing Incredible, Knowledge Based Service

  • Build relationships with customers making incredible customer service a priority over other tasks
  • Utilize resources continuously to expand knowledge about the wide variety of wines/other products available in the store to grow and develop professionally, share acquired knowledge to assist customers
  • Oversee special orders placed by customers to ensure that customers receive their special orders in a timely manner
  • Provide incredible service to the store by ensuring there are accurate, well-maintained price tags and signs on shelves and displays

Continuously Improving Results

  • Perform all steps in the checkout process including properly scanning and bagging items at a rate that meets store requirements, accept and process different forms of payment and make accurate change to ensure no overages or shortages of money
  • Perform pick-ups and readings for the front end to monitor sales and revenue throughout the day, check for overages and shortages and look for reasons for discrepancies
  • Manage inventory of all operating supplies including ordering and replenishing
  • Record daily sales in the sales book using the Store Totals and Store Totals Recap
  • Break back and balance tills to set amount; credit any remaining cash, offline checks, gift certificates redeemed, and E-Check total to the appropriate lanes
  • Ensure pickup sheets balance to Control Form
  • Properly handle other accounting transactions including EFT’s, deposits, etc.
  • Properly handle all product and equipment, maintain a clean work area, in accordance with safety guidelines with the aim of reducing shrink in the store
  • Uphold state regulations and store policies during the sale of alcohol with no exceptions or violations
  • Order, print and laminate all signs, being sure to hang signs in correct locations in accordance with state and liquor store regulations
  • Correctly hang new price tags, sale signs and end caps signs, ensuring all old signs are down, new ones are up and correct sale information is on display by the time the store opens
  • Maintain the price comparison boards
  • Perform other tasks essential to the proper functioning of the operation as needed

Work environment:

  • Work involves continuous interaction with customers and co-workers in a fast-paced environment
  • Typical motions include repetitive hand and arm movements, bending and reaching
  • Will be required to spend time on his or her feet and stand or walk without a break for up to 4 hours
  • May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction)
  • The average weight range of items lifted is 5-40 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 50 pounds occasionally
