The position of Maintenance Tech will possess a highly developed set of mechanical skills and be capable of performing most general repairs to commercial building systems, equipment and fixtures. Perform basic maintenance, repairs and installations of toilets, faucets, water filter PM’s, basic lighting repairs including ballast replacement and emergency lighting repairs, light carpentry, etc.

Duties & Responsibilities:
The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance to commercial facility equipment, mechanical systems and structures
• Assist Corporate Facilities staff with event preparation
• Perform exterior maintenance tasks as needed, painting, lot signage installation, storm inlet maintenance, concrete and asphalt repairs, exterior lighting maintenance, roof systems maintenance and fence repairs. Snow/ice management and lawn irrigation system repairs performed on an emergency basis
• Respond to, and assist as needed, in building emergency matters such as plumbing leaks, power failure, fire, etc…
• At the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, inspect commercial mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems and equipment for proper and safe operation

Note: Ability to be on call after hours and weekends for emergencies




Scope and Impact:
The Corporate Maintenance Technician is responsible for all activities necessary to maintaining a safe, secure, and clean environment for all customers and associates. Specifically, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day-to-day performance of all maintenance and repairs and preventive maintenance and emergency response needs of all the corporate assets operated and maintained by the Corporate Facilities Department

Education:
High School Degree or Equivalent, Trade School degree or certificate a plus

Qualifications:
Must possess a minimum of 4 years’ of general commercial maintenance experience.
• Extensive Plumbing, Electrical and Carpentry skills are necessary
• HVAC certification is a plus but not required
• Ability to effectively perform repairs and needed tasks under emergency situations.

Experience:
Must possess a minimum of 4 years’ of general commercial maintenance experience.

Skills and Abilities:
Possess a well-developed working knowledge of trades such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and food service equipment.
Possess basic computer skills.
Willingness and ability to follow and manage a schedule of tasks
Exhibit a strong sense of urgency.
Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Must be capable of sending/receiving/reading/responding to emails

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to communicate via phone
Must be able to Lift 50 lbs.
Ability to safely climb tall ladders and willingness and ability to work from high equipment such as scaffolding, mechanical lifts, ladders and roofs at a height of up to 5 stories.

Travel Requirements:
Minimal-local, between area sites (within 10 miles)
