Mountain Bike Park: Lift Operations - Part Time - Full-time / Part-time

We are looking for Lift Operators living near South Lake Tahoe to help us run our Mountain Bike Park this summer. Help us out and earn your summer season pass, good at all of Vail Resorts' properties!

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• The daily operation of assigned lift and related facilities.
• Following all specified standard procedures for safety, mechanical, weather and emergency conditions.
• Continually remaining vigilant as to the needs of both the mechanical lift and the biking and hiking customers.
• Maintaining all work areas in neat, clean and safe condition.
• Advising and assisting guests in a pleasant, courteous manner.
• Maintaining loading / unloading areas, ramps, lift entrances and mazes in such a manner as to make it as easy as possible for bikers and hikers to load and unload.
• Preparing the appropriate daily lift reports.
• Maintaining cooperative attitude with fellow employees.
• Communicating problems to your Supervisor and /or lift maintenance personnel.
• Following all specified guidelines and requirements for appearance, attendance and customer service.
• Responsible for Mountain Radio.
• Assist with sweep after last chair.
• First Aid certification class provided by Health and Safety Manager.

   

  Requirements:

• Intermediate Mountain Biking skills. Must have your own PPE and bike with front and rear shocks in proper working condition.
• Must be capable of maintaining a constant awareness of the people and equipment within an assigned work area, and able to exercise reasonable judgment at all times.
• Prior understanding of the standards and techniques spelled out in the Lift Operations Training Program and other required training sessions.
• Physically capable of the lifting heavy downhill mountain bikes upside and placing them onto hooks.
• Must comply with the uniform and appearance standards for their entire term of employment.
• Must comply with the attendance requirements for their entire term of employment.
• Must follow the Company values and make guest service a top priority for their entire term of employment.

  Schedule:

  July 1th to Sept. 4th Weekends. 9:00am - 4:30pm. We take 1:45 hour long lunches to ride. Part-time shifts negotiable.
