Planning Manager

Position Overview: As a member of the Supply Chain group, the Planning Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining the ERP/MRP master production plan to ensure demand and supply are balanced and key operational metrics are achieved. This person leads the planning process that aligns demand, capacity, and inventory and manages Schedulers with team responsibility synchronizing the timely execution of all production work orders.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes/Interprets Sales forecasts and shipment histories, order backlog, Manufacturing inputs, and material supply to establish, adjust, and control the ERP/MRP monthly master schedule operations plan.
  • Leads efforts to assess and define a demand plan and inventory strategy and model that optimizes service level to customer demand and business goals against inventories and production utilization.
  • Manages production Schedulers responsible for ensuring inventory levels against targets, accurate and executable production schedules at met for each product group, and on-time delivery of customer orders.
  • Manages the NPI Scheduler, ensuring that the manufacturing operations team is driving to an aligned plan and schedule, in support to product development needs.
  • Acts as liaison between the Materials group and Customer Service, providing feedback on material and capacity constraints that may affect the customer
  • Working with the extended team to identify and resolve potential and actual delivery issues and where appropriate drive assessment and solutioning to avoid future issues.
  • Works with Customer Service and Sales to understand planning for delivery of product in backlog and the possibility of large orders. Leads planning for large orders with Buyers and Production Supervisors to determine and then meet delivery commitments.
  • Plays a central role in identifying and leading continuous improvement activities associated with operations planning and scheduling.
  • Maintains Microsoft AX ERP System. Enters and modifies data to ensure the correctness of product hierarchies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Requires a Bachelor degree in a related field or its equivalent. Requires at least five (5) years of experience in master scheduling.
  • Supply planning or supply chain certifications (CPIM, APICS, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience and mastery in forecasting, material and resource planning, and material supply chains.
  • Advanced knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and material planning functions. Experience in Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred.
  • Deep understanding of MRP runs and Bills of Material (BOM).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communications, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Working knowledge of and experience with lean manufacturing principals.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • $70,000 to $90,000 Depending on Experience, Skills and Qualification
