Role and Responsibilities

PrideStaff is seeking a screwing machine operator that has previous experience with this type of machinery for our client located northeast of Pittsburgh. This is an opportunity for an individual with previous experience to utilize that experience and grow with an expanding firm. There is a First Shift position and a Second Shift position and the pay is $13 an hour.

The screwing machine operator would be responsible for:

• Setting up and operation of multi spindle screw machines
• Changing gears, cams, and other mechanical items
• Properly setting up the machine for the part to be made
• Accurately using measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, snap gauges, gauge pins, etc.
• Sharpening tools as needed
• Maintaining the proper cutting speeds and depths

Specific duties for the screwing machine operator would include:

• Mounting, aligning, and securing tooling, attachments, and workpieces on the machine
• Selecting and installing cutting tools
• Following job instructions and reading prints and dimensions
• Troubleshooting problems with either tooling or the program itself
• Manually controlling the machine when necessary for nonautomated functions or machine malfunctions

Preferred Skills

• years’ prior experience or more is preferred
• Experience with HAAS Milling Machines and/or Doosan CNC Lathes a plus
• Experience with Acme, New Britain machinery, multi-spindle equipment, and manufacturing parts for the automotive and truck markets a plus

Attendance, punctuality, and the ability to get along and work well with others are all critical skills that our client is looking for in the machine operator candidate, in addition to being self-motivated, conscientious, and ethical.
