The Gideon Putnam is a historic destination located within Saratoga Spa State Park. Delaware North manages the hotel and dining services, as well as the famous Roosevelt Baths & Spa. 

The hotel boasts 124 rooms and 22 suites, all with views of park as well as 12,000-square feet of event space and a casual, on-site restaurant and bar, Putnam’s, serving creative cuisine inspired by the City of Saratoga Springs. 

This upstate New York destination combines more than 75 years of historic character with exceptional service and modern facilities.

 

The Opportunity

We have a newly opened opportunity in our world famous Roosevelt Baths and Spa for a Concierge. In this position you will provide a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere, processing guests, answering questions and making reservations while maintaining the highest degree of service and guest satisfaction. 

 

Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet guests professionally. 
• Maintain cleanliness of the reception/desk area, including retail areas.
• Answer the telephone in a friendly manner, making appointments, offering services and answering questions when needed, i.e. directions, history of the baths.
• Keep all therapists up to date on any changes in their schedules.
• Sell and process gift certificates and retail products.
• Help maintain a controlled and relaxing working environment throughout the spa to help ensure high levels of guest satisfaction and return.
• Address questions and concerns of guests and staff in an efficient, cordial and professional manner.
• Ensure locker rooms, relaxation lounge, hallways and steam rooms are properly stocked and clean throughout shift.
• Follow proper opening and closing procedures for the Spa.
• Report to manager when items needed for job are running low.
• Stock supplies and linen before and after each shift.

 

Qualifications

Prior Experience working in a Spa setting preferred. Must have an enthusiastic and service-orientated attitude. Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time. Must present a professional and well-groomed appearance. Must have excellent communication and organizational skills. Must have the ability to work alone and work flexible schedules such as days, evenings and weekends as required.

 

Physical Requirements

• Lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds with frequent twisting, bending and reaching
• Able to work longer than 8 hours when necessary
