Job Description
Summary:
The Registered Nurse Emergency Services provides direct nursing care to patients in the emergency services area in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Responsibilities:
- Triages and prioritizes patient care based on acuity level and available resources.
- Implements and monitors patient care plans.
- Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Works collaboratively with other disciplines to provide well-coordinated patient care.
- Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
Qualifications
License & Certifications:
- Required Credential(s):
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- One or more of the following:
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
- American Red Cross Professional CPR/AED Rescuer
- Preferred Credential(s):
- Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency Care credentialed from the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN).
- Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Trauma Nurse credentialed from the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA).
- Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency Nursing Pediatrics.
- Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) .
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Education & Experience:
- Minimum Requirement: Graduate of an accredited Nursing program or graduate of a non-accredited Nursing program with at least 2 years' experience.
