Job Description:

The Buyer will be making sure that all key materials needed for the manufacturing of kits, parts, machine shop materials etc are provided with no lag time and are always in stock.
***must come from a high volume environment and have the mentality of doing whatever it takes to get parts in the door to keep things running smoothly***

Work Environment:

Will be working in an office setting but they will be going on the floor to check inventory and working with several other managers to determine volume of products needed.

Qualifications:

  • 3-4 years in high volume manufacturing environment with 5 plus years experience as a buyer.
  • Ideally looking for someone with APICS/CPIM certification or at least someone that is working toward either of those.
  • Determining the buying strategy for parts, finding sources for supply, negotiate price, delivery and terms and conditions of purchased items. Engage in price negotiations to mitigate price increases and obtain cost savings. (they will not accept cost increases for parts).
  • Evaluate and maintain MRP for assigned commodities and ensure system validity and integrity by inputting and adjusting records as changes/requirements occur.
  • Support the implementation and execution of forecasting activities.
  • Experience working with BOM's and engineered parts.
  • Experience setting up item/material master parameters in MRP.
  • Ability to read and understand MRP signals, and identify potential issues.
  • Perfect fit: 7-10 years with buying/planning/supply chain and have experience working within a manufacturing environment.
  • 10% of the job will be reviewing contracts and managing those.
