GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Field Services Technician (FST) is responsible for providing project and technical support to client in supporting project management, customer plant trials, and plant start-ups/commissioning and optimization. The FST will be involved in pre-startup activities, startup and performance test activities as well as providing ongoing post-startup support at customer locations.

The FST will also participate in internal R&D projects and process/product improvement programs and will be a part of Edeniqs R&D efforts. The FST will assist project managers by providing technical review of project deliverables. Other tasks assigned by the Manager of Field Services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assist in the preparation of Operations manuals including process system descriptions, review of operational & control descriptions;
  2. Establish project technical requirements, including preparing and maintaining design basis documents, document list, project distribution, technical evaluation protocol and formats, and project procedures;
  3. Responsible for implementation of the technical work according to project schedules;
  4. Prepare and maintain documentation that supports the information requirements of the Project Manager;
  5. Collect Material Samples at client locations, following unique and specific protocols;
  6. Assist in supporting technology improvements;
  7. Prepare and present training material;
  8. Participate in system start-up and commissioning;
  9. Provide technical support to operations. Troubleshoot operational problems;
  10. Participate in internal technology design and R&D projects;
  11. Review P&IDs for customer specific projects;



EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

EDUCATION:

A B.S. degree from an accredited 4 year college in a technical major (Chemical/Laboratory or related field) is preferred but not required.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 3 years work experience in plant operations as a process or production technician

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Excellent speaking, writing and organizational skills;
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite or similar software;
  • Ability to function as part of a multi-discipline project team;
  • 50-75% travel, at client locations for up to two weeks at a time.
