Maintenance Tech II

Looking for Maintenance Technicians for a company in Whitestown, IN!

Maintenance mechanic's main responsibility is preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, repairing issues, and system upgrades to conveyor systems at Amazon. They will also have project work repairing pull carts that they pickers uses to pull orders. This position is 80% mechanical and 20% electrical.

The job can be broken down into three categories:
1.) 50%-60% of time- Techs will be responding to floor calls. They will be mainly working with 480v, 3 phase motors, troubleshooting minor repairs and often replacing like motors. They will get very familiar with gear box issues, belt issues and will be diagnosing and repairing often. Pneumatic components that redirect packages that will need repair if necessary. Other issues that could come up are issues with Photo-eyes, Bar-code scanners, and cameras. A lot of time tension on drive belts goes out and candidates will need to know how to repair and tighten tension in belts.

2.) 20%-30% of time- Will be walking the line observing the conveyor systems, observing the freight moving through the system and preforming PMs (Greasing, checking belt tension, and inspecting drive belts). There will be a quadrant of the building that will be assigned and the PM needs to be completed by end of 4 day schedule. Techs will work section by section of conveyor to complete PMs.

3.) 10%-20% of time- Repairing pull carts- This could be anything from fixing welds, fixing bearing on wheels, fixing battery docks for laptops. There will be little information and techs will have to identify issues and make repairs. Also, any project work that needs done will be completed in this time. Adding guard rails or other modifications.

Pay: $21/hour

Shift: 2nd Sunday-Wednesday 1:30PM-11:30PM
