Software Engineer

Job Description:

MUST HAVES- - Development experience in C, C++ - Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science Designs, develops, operates and maintains software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to and integrated with engineering, scientific and manufacturing requirements. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of such engineering applications and products such as laboratory simulation systems, aircraft flight control and display systems. Interfaces with customers, suppliers, application users and other technical and support personnel.

Work Environment:

- Office setting with cubicles - Will work with team of 5-7 Software engineers to complete projects. Why would someone want to work here?: - This group will be supporting a large government project with high tech simulation software - Software department is growing, they just hired one of our contractors permanent.

Performance Expectations:

-Typical day will be doing upgrades on software and helping develop new software. Candidate will know how to maneuver around Red Hat without trouble and code in C/C++

Will also be doing some HTML coding early on as well. Best vs. Avg: -Best employees will be able to learn on the fly and take good direction from others. -This role is heavily dependent on learning from Sr. Engineers and taking what is taught and running with tasks independently.

Additional Information:

Experience with HTML5/Javascript with AJAX a plus. Knowledge of QT for GUI development a strong plus.
