About this job

As the Production Manager, you would be responsible for operational planning and execution, managing staffing and resources, participating and leading cross functional teams, and driving continuous improvements throughout the scope of responsibility while influencing change in other areas. This includes the production planning, processing, and preservation of tissue grafts, accurate and timely production quality reviews, in-process inspections, technical training and education, and interviewing, hiring, and retaining staff. The Operations Manager ensures all operational activities are compliant with FDA Quality System Regulations, ISO regulations, and AATB standards. This position requires strong analytical skills and a systems approach to problem solving. It also requires strong leadership and managerial skills with emphasis on goal setting, accountability, and coaching and mentoring employees.
You would be expected to perform all tasks assigned to you, including but not limited to:
* Manage assigned operations to ensure execution of operational and production plans. To include adequate staffing, training and growth and development.
* Identify future leaders of the department and division and develop professional growth plans and opportunities with individuals. Provides coaching and mentoring to all staff.
* Oversee effective initial and ongoing training for technical staff. Ensure all training records are complete and competencies are verified per policies.
* Analyze operational metrics and standards and make or recommend operating decisions accordingly.
* Monitor staff performance via appraisals, goal setting, and production record review on a timely basis.
* Investigate customer complaints and internal errors, conducts root-cause analyses, implement corrective and preventative actions and monitoring effectiveness of those actions. Utilize exemplary customer service in dealing with these issues.
* Develop and monitor key performance indicators including financial metrics. Investigate trends and/or variances and adjusts operations or recommends adjustments as necessary.
* Participate in the development of departmental annual budgets (operational and capital). Achieve departmental budgeted units of services while maintaining costs within budget.
* Utilize analytical thinking and problem solving skills to identify areas for improvement and manage the development of new processes. Effectively utilize Lean concepts to improve quality and efficiency.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration,Engineering or related from an accredited college/university.
* Minimum 5 years supervisory/management experience.
* Minimum 3 years related experience in operations, manufacturing or production environment.
* Strong knowledge of LEAN concepts.
* Previous experience in tissue banking, medical devices or related industry preferred.

Third Shift Supervisor
Schedule: 11PM-7AM Mon-Fri

Weekend Production Manager
Schedule: Fri - Mon - hours TBD
