Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides direct patient care to patients with high risk pregnancies in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prioritizes the nursing assessment and intervention by determining the patient's immediate condition or needs. Implements and monitors patient care plans.
  • Performs or assists physician with performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including genetic diagnostics, ultrasound imaging and select surgical procedures.
  • Administers medications/interventions as prescribed and evaluates and records progress.
  • Performs and/or monitors clinical research protocols to stay current with trends, technologies and advances in maternal fetal medicine.


Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):
    • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. 
    • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Department of Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date, or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) licensure required.
    • One or more of the following:
      • Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date. ACLS replaces the BLS.
      • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required ASN or BSN preferred

Work Experience:

  • Labor and Delivery experience preferred.
