Job Summary


  • Irrigation Technician

    The Irrigation Technician reports directly to the landscape manager and is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the irrigation system throughout the resort grounds. The Irrigation Technician is an integral part of the Landscape Maintenance Operation and functions as a key player on our team.

    Qualifications

    · Minimum 5 years related commercial irrigation, horticulture, landscape work experience

    · Familiarity and knowledge of computerized irrigation control systems WeatherTRAK but not required.

    · Able to repair main lines up to 4”

    · Trouble shoot, repair and replace valves.

    · Use wire tracing equipment.

    · Ability to read, comprehend and interpret blue prints and reports.

    · Must be able to use hand held devices in the field such as smart phones / I pad, etc..

    · Willingness to work outside of normal business hours if required.

    · Valid driver’s license.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITES

    · Job duties will include trouble shooting and repairing irrigation systems and programming controllers.

    · Maintains inventory of parts associated with irrigation system.

    · Reports any irregularities in turf quality/vegetation to manager.

    Performs special projects delegated by manager

    • Inspects all existing irrigation throughout the resort to ensure systems for efficiency, are working properly or need for repair.
    • Assists with new installs and or with renovation of irrigation systems.
    • May utilize computerized tools to analyze irrigation systems for problems.
    • Activates and deactivates irrigation systems according to seasonal priorities or pre-established schedules per manager.
    • Ensures uniform distribution of watering to all areas.
    • Observes and subscribes to safety precautions at all times and responsible for personal safety performance.


    · Assists with landscaping/grounds keeping duties as needed.

    · Good communications skills with the ability to read , write and speak English.
    • Certifications such as Water Audit, Backflow, Landscape Tech, etc. is preferred but not required.
    • Ability to constantly work in all weather conditions, particularly extreme desert temperatures, with exposure to all types of vegetation, weeds, trees, flowers and pollens.
    • Ability to lift, carry, and/or move up to 75 pounds, climb ladders, and meet physical demands.


    · Identify and correct performance problems and complete repairs/adjustments to system components which include heads, valves, pipe, wire, fittings, filters, valve boxes and quick couplers.

    · Be proactive in anticipating water requirements according to weather and vegetation needs.

    · Able to work well under pressure and balance multiple priorities and assignments.

    Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness a must.


Monitor property grounds to ensure a pleasant appearance. Maintain lawns by mowing, edging, raking leaves, and performing other lawn maintenance functions. Wash, clean, and re-fuel all equipment after use. Maintain flower beds, baskets, and boxes by watering, removing weeds, trimming, and performing other maintenance. Remove and bag trash from all exterior trash cans. Maintain the appearance of fountains, planters, or other grounds features by cleaning, replacing or making repairs. Maintain the appearance and safety of sidewalks, driveways, cart paths, or parking lots by filling in cracks, holes, and making other repairs. Operate tractors, trucks, or utility vehicles to transport equipment and supplies.

Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report defective equipment, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Support team to reach common goals. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces. Move up and down ladders, stairs and/or service ramps. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
