Aerotek is currently hiring for Construction and Engineering firms in the Portland/ Vancouver area. We are currently hiring Project Engineer's for Commercial General Contractors, Specialty c and Mechanical Contractors. We are looking for motivated individuals who are looking to get their career started in this BOOMING construction market. This Project Engineer will be traveling around the Pacific Northwest working on projects that would include Industrial Piping, Hydro plants, Food Processing plants and etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project scheduling: coordinate the management and scheduling of subcontractors, special inspection, rentals, and additional special requirements with Foreman
  • Coordinates crew scheduling with Field Superintendent
  • Completes job dispatch sheets, JHA's, Change Order's, RFI's and other submittals as required.
  • Field support as required: installation questions, project layout, client meetings, etc.
  • Stays current with RFP's, conducts site visits and pre-con meetings, and works with Operations Manager to prepare estimates
  • Job tracking, Cost control, change orders, and other daily paperwork that may be needed to help the project manager
  • Maintains logs for RFIs, submittal, change proposals and plan revisions.
  • Studies and understands the contract documents of each project, including provisions of the general or special conditions.
  • Identifies ambiguities, conflicts, and discrepancies and brings them to the attention of the Project Manager or other
    supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years+ experience as a Project Engineer or Field Engineer is required
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering desired
  • Must be proficient at reading project drawings, specifications and contract documents
  • Proficient with MS Office Products, including MS Project
  • Experience using Bluebeam Revu and AutoCAD is beneficial (but not required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organizational and time management skills.
  • Physical demands: ability to sit, stand, lift, and climb ladders/scaffolding as needed
  • General knowledge of construction principles/ practices
