Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Keyes, California
Reports To: Maintenance Manager/ Foreman
Department: Maintenance Department
Supervises: N/A
Classification: Non-exempt/Intermediate Phase
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following is a list of major duties and responsibilities for this position along with certain supportive duties. It is not all-inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be added as needed and in addition; and, management may modify this job description as needed.
1. Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective action. Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
2. Reviews production schedule and when equipment is not scheduled for production, changes over equipment to new sizes or performs scheduled maintenance.
3. Tests equipment to check operation. Tries out equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime.
4. Examines, tests and measures product from assigned equipment for quality specifications, using gauges and instruments, and records data on appropriate forms. Checks for visual defects.
5. Makes preventive maintenance check and inspections of assigned equipment, reports findings to supervisor and takes appropriate action.
6. Analyzes and records cause of production delays on daily production report.
7. Demonstrate a personal commitment to the Company values; promote an environment that appreciates diversity and treats all people with respect, prohibiting discrimination and harassment of any kind.
8. Ensure a safe, healthy work environment by following all safety, health and environmental policies, procedures and regulations per the company’s safety program, job safe practices and other related programs.
9. Others duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
1. High School diploma or equivalent
2. 1 to 2 years electrical experience
3. Attend trade related courses
Qualifications
1. Excellent organizational skills
2. Welding and fabrication skills (MIG-TIG-Plasma)
3. Detailed oriented and multi-tasking is a must
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
5. Ability to learn data entry
6. Valid driver’s license
7. Must have the ability to work different shifts and overtime. This includes the possibility of short-term and long-term shift reassignment to match the needs of the business.
Physical Requirements
Requirements include: frequently stand and walk. Occasionally to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms, climb stairs and ladders or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear and smell. Exposed to hot and cold weather conditions.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust or focus.
